Lord Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council 2018
Congratulations to Rainer Borg (Year 11), who represented St Paul’s on the 2018 Lord Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council (LMYAC).
LMYAC aims to develop young people as leaders, and is specifically designed to provide an opportunity for young people in Brisbane to participate in decision making at local and citywide level. Students identify issues and engage with each other in a public forum, where they are encouraged to provide feedback and give their opinion about Brisbane City Council policies, local laws, services and programs that affect young people.
Last year’s council developed and presented innovative ideas which aim to contribute to creating a Vibrant and Creative Brisbane. One concept was presented at Council’s Ordinary meeting in December.
At assembly, Rainer was presented with a letter of thanks from the Lord Mayor and a keepsake photo from the event.
What a fabulous opportunity!
