Comprising seasoned educators and subject matter specialists, they guide students from Pre-Prep to Year 12, ensuring the strategic direction and operational strength of our institution.

John O’Sullivan Williams

Principal

John O’Sullivan Williams brings over 20 years of diverse educational experience to St Paul’s School. With a background spanning independent schools across Australia, Japan, and England, he has held various curriculum and pastoral care leadership roles from the early days as Head of Year, Head of Student Leadership, Head of Faculty, Deputy Principal and Director of Learning & Partnerships.

Mr O’Sullivan Williams makes significant professional contributions as a convenor, facilitator and keynote speaker at leadership conferences for teachers and middle leaders transitioning to leadership in Queensland independent schools. He currently serves as an Executive Member on the Australian Council for Educational Leaders and is Chairperson of the QLD Awards Committee.

Jon Andrews

deputy principal

Jon Andrews has over 25 years of experience as an educator in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Jon has a background in teaching the Humanities and Social Sciences, but also has particular expertise in staff professional development, teacher coaching and feedback, school improvement, and the use of educational research and evidence to develop initiatives to enhance student experience of schooling.

As Deputy Principal, Jon oversees the operations of St Paul’s School from P-12, and works collaboratively with staff, students and families to provide quality opportunities in academic, extracurricular, experiential and community areas of school life.

Jon enjoys running, cricket, climbing, science fiction and travel.

Marianne Connolly

DIRECTOR OF Junior School

Marianne Connolly is the Director of Junior School at St Paul’s School and has over 25 years’ experience in early childhood and primary education. She is committed to student flourishing and helping young people begin their schooling journey as positively as possible.

Marianne provides strategic leadership and oversees the academic, social, and emotional development of students in the early years, ensuring a nurturing and enriching environment.

She enjoys running, early morning boot camps and netball.

Rev Mark Leam

Chaplain

As the school Chaplain, Rev Mark Leam undertakes a vital ministry of pastoral and spiritual care, prioritising the wellbeing of all members of the School community.

Engaging across various aspects of school life and with students of all ages, they lead worship sessions, embodying the teachings of Jesus Christ and reinforcing the school’s core values of Faith, Learning, and Community.

Mark actively supports the Anglican ethos and traditions, serving as a co-tutor in Boek house and contributing to numerous extracurricular groups and Outreach activities.

Mark enjoys AFL, travelling to his farm and spending time with his grandchildren.

Karen Madden

DIRECTOR OF TEACHING AND LEARNING

Bringing over 15 years of senior leadership experience in education, Karen is an expert in the field of teaching and learning.

Karen has established partnerships with many of Australia’s leading universities and curriculum authorities. Her recent completion of her PhD at The University of Queensland, along with the publication of her co-edited book, positions her as a leading voice in educational leadership and alternative research methodologies. Karen is responsible for the strategic and inspirational leadership of our teaching and learning program from Pre-Prep to Year 12.

Robert Nettleton

DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS AND OPERATIONS

Robert Nettleton is the Director of Business and Operations at St Paul’s School and oversees financial operations, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure fiscal sustainability.

Robert provides strategic direction for the School’s administrative functions, facilities, and compliance, working to optimise efficiency and support the School’s mission and strategic objectives.

Robert enjoys Rugby, Formula One and spending time with his family.

Kathleen Power

DIRECTOR OF international education

Kathleen Power is the Director of International Education at St Paul’s School. She oversees the programs offered to our second language learners and provides pastoral and academic support to all international students at St Paul’s School.

With over 30 years’ experience in education across Australia and overseas, Kathleen has a passion for supporting second language learners reach their full potential.

Kathleen enjoys netball, reading and travelling.

Erica Trudgian

DIRECTOR of wellbeing

Erica Trudgian is the Director of Wellbeing at St Paul’s School and is responsible for the overall development of school policies and practices relating to student wellbeing, pastoral care and behavioural expectations.

Erica has over fifteen years as an educator specialising in the areas of Mathematics and Science. In addition to her Bachelor of Education, Erica has a Bachelor of Behavioural Science and a Masters in Education-Leadership and Management.

She is a past student of St Paul’s School and enjoys swimming and spending time with her family.
