About This Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has been created for a Level 1 Registered Nurse to join the Wellbeing Team at St Paul’s School. This position reports to the Nurse Manager as part of the Wellbeing team, across both Secondary, Primary and Early Leaning campuses.

We are seeking someone to commence at the start of Term 3 being Monday 08 July 2024.

The role of the School Nurse is to provide first aid and health care at St Paul’s School. Key responsibilities include providing health care for ill or injured students, maintaining student records and using clinical knowledge and judgement when providing care.

This is the perfect opportunity for a Nurse looking for a change from a hospital environment to a school environment where they can use their skills to support the health and wellbeing of young people.

Remuneration – Nurse Level 1 as per the Queensland Anglican Schools Enterprise Agreement 2021

HOURS OF WORK: 

  • This is a permanent position, operating full time  during term time.
  • Work hours would usually be from 0800 – 1600 Monday to Friday. Critical hours are during school time.
  • You will need to have some availability to support students at School Camp or during extra -curricular activities, which may occur out of normal work hours.

ABOUT YOU:  

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills and experience;

  1. Registered Nurse registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  2. Current Senior First Aid Certificate, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Defibrillation Certificate
  3. Knowledge of legislation relevant to this position, including school nursing practice and adolescent healthcare
  4. Ability to manage day-to-day workflow in an efficient and flexible way, allowing for the many unscheduled interruptions that occur
  5. Demonstrated interpersonal skills, to liaise with students, staff and parents
  6. Ability to remain calm and to effectively manage a diverse range of student needs.
  7. Competent in the use of computers, Microsoft Office and able to quickly learn new systems.
