Innovation Precinct – open for business
It was so wonderful to see students in the brand new Innovation Precinct this week.
The Innovation Precinct is open from 7:30am – 4:30pm (3:30pm on Fridays) and features the Secondary Library, Possibility Hub, Senior Study Centre, Food Tech and Hospitality Kitchens, Centre for Realms of Thinking, and Showcase Theatre.
This week we hosted the very first Whole House in the Showcase Theatre and Rite Journey sessions in the Possibility Hub. The Year 5 cohort were the very first student group to use the Showcase Theatre and the Year 4 students got creative with Lego in the Possibility Hub.
All Year 7, 8 and 9 students completed an “Induction By Doing” session during their IST lesson, as they raced around the spaces completing a scavenger hunt, finding the different areas and completing missions using the resources in the Possibility Hub.
Year 7 students began their English lessons in the Connect Lounge and the Year 12 students are loving their Senior Study Centre with kitchenette. Junior Dance Troupe meetings are hosted each morning in the Showcase Theatre and the Secondary students are enjoying the space before and after school and during breaks.
The Innovation Precinct is a collaborative, creative space for deep thinking and already it’s become a vibrant hub in the school. We can’t wait to see students continuing to enjoy the space.
