SWIMMING SUPPORTERS GROUP
We invite swimmers to join us for St Paul’s Swimming Club for Term 4 (2016) and Term 1 (2017).
The St Paul’s Swimming Club is an open club and your friends are welcome to join us.
The Club focuses on participation and fun. Swimmers compete against their personal best times and points are awarded for improvement. It provides a great opportunity for your children as young as Pre-Prep to participate in school sports and feel part of the School community.
Pre-Prep and Prep swimmers should be able to swim 12.5 metres with limited assistance. Limited assistance includes a parent in the pool to assist your child for the swim or your child can hold-on to a “floatie” and complete the distance.
The 2016/2017 season starts in Term 4 on Friday 14 October 2016 @ 6:30 pm (6pm for 6:30pm start) at the St Paul’s School pool (near the car park, behind the Tooth building).
Registrations are open NOW on Flexischools.

CRICKET SUPPORTERS GROUP
St Paul’s Cricket teams are in action….
On Saturday 8 October, St Paul’s teams took to the grounds around North Brisbane for their much awaited start to the season. We have progressed into 2 games for most teams whereas the open team have completed 1 game over the 2 week.
A great first game of the season saw the Under 10s win against St Patricks on a very narrow pitch.
The bowling/fielding awards went to Harrison and Alastair McDonald for their consistent bowling. The final award went to Coen Cook, who in his first game of cricket took a wicket with his first ball.
With the bat Coen came out firing with a wonderful cover drive for 4 of his first ball faced.
The Under 10’s lost their second game at home against a strong Sandgate team. It was a tough day fielding
Well played everyone and this week’s training will be focusing on fielding.
The U12 team had a terrific start to the season. Scores were St Paul’s 10/206 & 2/34 defeats Toombul 93 and all out 101 off the last ball of the game.
Captain Jishnu took two diving catches behind the stumps.
Henry’s heat bowling with 3 for 21.
Martin remaining undefeated after 50 balls.
Luke’s iron gloves behind the stumps.
Looking forward to our next game!
Open’s Report
St Paul’s/ Bald Hills vs. St Patricks
Some quick runs in the lower order from St Paul’s saw us scrape up 131 after the top order didn’t manage to pass 20 in the first innings. Although we knew 131 would be enough if we bowled well, we didn’t start too well ending the first day 2/51, requiring 8 more wickets for victory. On the second day we got off to a great start with a wicket on the very first ball from Sam Deacon. With steady wickets falling throughout the day thanks to Trishul Patel (3-8) and Sam Deacon (2-5) the score reached 8-115.
St Pauls needing two wickets and St Patricks only 17 runs. Unfortunately, they scraped through the runs and ended up being bowled out for 161. An extra 30-40 runs from St Pauls in the first innings would have seen a very exciting finish to the game.
Next CSG meeting will be held in the Library at 7pm on Wednesday 2 November.
The role of Cricket Supporters Group is to engage with the school for improvement of facilities for our students and also organise events to promote Cricket@St Paul’s. We would like to encourage all parents to come forth and participate / put forward ideas so we all contribute towards improving cricket @ St Paul’s.
All are welcome.
