Volleyball Victory!
During the recent September schools holidays, Queensland hosted the Annual Australian Junior Volleyball Championships at Coomera. It was an amazing performance by the Queensland teams, who ended the week with the most overall championship points, therefore winning the President’s Cup Trophy for the Champion State!
Many St Paul’s current and past students, as well as staff were involved in the event and they recorded the following great results:
- Sophie Hicks (U19 Girls Maroon) – Bronze Medal
- Sarah Strong (U17 Girls Maroon) – Gold Medal (undefeated champions) and selection As an Australian All Star 7
- Lauryn Spiller (U15 Girls White) – Gold Medal (undefeated champions)
- Blake Harrison (U15 Boys White) – Silver Medal
- Mitch Broom – Past Student (u19 white) – Bronze medal
- Chris Todd – Current Head of Volleyball – Head Coach of the U19 Men’s Program – Bronze Medal
- Paul Doneley – Staff member and past Head of Volleyball – Head Coach of 15’s Men’s Program – Gold (maroon) and Silver (White).
